      Selling with KRW

THE SALES

We have two sales each year (usually in March and October). Advertising is via flyer (10,000 printed and delivered), Melbournes Child, letters and email to our mailing list of about 650 people and, of course, this web site.

Our sales are set up as a shop not a market so you do not have a stall or need to be there the whole time. As a seller you prepare your items for sale using a sellers kit (which is provided at no charge), you need to bring your items to the sale, be available to collect unsold items afterwards and help for 2.5 hours (before, after or during the sale).

Sellers need to book their place at the sale but there is no cap on the number of items presented for sale. The only real rules are that you can sell anything related to kids (toys, books, linen, clothing, shoes, crockery, wall hangings, videos, etc, etc) as long as it is clean and in good - excellent condition.

SELLING  BASICS

In order to sell at a KRW sale you first need to "book in" by expressing your interest in writing via post or email or phone. Your booking will be confirmed and your sellers kit provided once your "booking fee" (see Fees & Charges) has been received.

Using a seller's kit provided by KRW, each selling member prepares her/his own items for sale. Basically you make your item presentable for sale, complete an item tag (provided) for each item and fill in the item sheets (provided).

On the Friday you come to the sale between 1:30 & 3:30pm (at an arranged time), hand in your item sheets and put your items where they have to go. When the sale finishes on Saturday, you come at an arranged time between 4:00 & 5:30pm and pick up what isn't sold (or you may donate your unsold goods).

In order to receive full benefit from the sale, each seller is required to help out in some way for 2.5 hours either before, during or after the sale - if a seller is unable to help the commission on sold goods is 40%.

KRW retains your item sheets for processing; outstanding item fees, commission and service fees are deducted from your sales and payment is made (by Direct Deposit or Cheque) within the 4 weeks post-sale and items sheets returned.

Fees & Charges

Booking Fee

Potential sellers need to book in to be part of the sale, whether they are existing members or not (Member numbers are issued to sellers to identify their items). Sellers kits will not be supplied until the booking fee has been paid.

Booking Fee = $10.00 + postage

The Booking Fee includes your Minimum Item Fee which covers your first 25 items at the sale, additional items are charged at 20c/item

To "Book in" for the sale please use the details in Contact Us

Due to increased interest it is now necessary to book a place at the sale,  this simply involves requesting a sellers kit and paying your "Booking Fee" in order for your sellers kit to be posted (or collected).

For those already familiar with KRW and new contacts alike, it is important to note that the booking process is essential to ensuring that there is enough room at the venue to adequately display all sellers items.

Sellers kits will be posted ASAP after your booking fee is received (usually same day but within 3 days). If you are able to pick up your sellers kit from Wantirna Sth there will, of course, be no postage charge.

To start this process please estimate the number of items that you will be selling (round up to the nearest 25) and let me know how you would like to pay your booking fee via email.

Booking fees may be paid via direct deposit, paypal or cheque; payments will be noted on your "item summary sheet" in your sellers kit.

Note - Sellers kits will be posted ASAP after the receipt of Item Fees and postage (to confirm your booking)

Basic Fees

Booking Fee : $10 (+ postage if required) paid upfront to book your place at the sale

Item Fee       : Minimum of $5 (included in booking fee) covers 1-25 items then 20c/item

Commission :  20% deducted from your total sales.

Sellers Kits   : No Charge

Membership is free! Your member number identifies your items

Service Fees

Kit Postage  : $1.50 - $3.00 (depending on how many  "tags" are required)

Postage charges are based on the number of tags that you need as the cost of postage depends on the weight of the letter (additional tags may be posted later but will incur another postage charge)

# Tags 25, 50 75, 100, 125, 150 175, 200
Postage $1.50 $2.00 $3.00

Disposal Fee (for donated goods) : 20c/item

Donating unsold goods - sellers may choose to donate unsold goods rather than arranging to collect them at the end of the sale. Items will either be donated to charity or resold to fund KRW sales.

Although it is a good and kind thing to donate there will however be a small fee (20c/unsold item) to cover the cost of transporting and processing these items.

If you choose to donate your unsold goods you will need to indicate this on your summary sheet so that we know before the sale starts and have an idea how many items we may be required to transport afterwards.

Recovery Fee : $30 + 20c/item (if you do not collect your items from the venue & want them back)

It is emphasised that if you have chosen to collect your unsold items it is essential that you do so. If you simply forget and still wish to pick up your items at a later date there will be a charge of $30+20c/unsold item.

Please note that this is not an additional service, or encouraged, as not turning up at your scheduled time makes the pack-up process at the end of the sale much more difficult.

Personal Trading Board ads. : $5 each (no commission)- one item per (A4) advertisement

Business Trading Board ads. : $5 each (A5)  $10 each (A4) - to promote your business

All Trading Board ads are to be paid for up front.

Personal Trading Board ads are to be prepared using the (A4) poster supplied in the sellers kit.

Business Trading Board ads are to be prepared by the business supplying the ad.

Trading Board ads may be submitted before the day of the sale (along with payment) by post or personal delivery to the KRW mailing address in Contact Us.
